Sunshines at Lake Cathie Brunch & Book

What an amazing morning at Sunshine's at Lake Cathie for Brunch & Book, it was such a lovely morning and great to see sunshine.

Again, I did the Sentence game where I asked people that attended to write a sentence and I would write a short story using their sentences.

It's a great way to get people engaged and some of the sentences are great, so it's good to challenge myself as well and keep my hand in writing and being creative.

Lorraine sat with Irene and looked out across the lake,

“Lake Cathie is a great place to catch up with yourself and with others, as it’s a beautiful part of the world,” said Irene with a smile.

Rob was walking to the Book Launch, but stopped looking out at the ocean, it never ceased to delight her when she walked on the beach and seen dolphins.

The book launch was to start at 11:00am, Tracey had been up and out early for her walk as she didn’t want to be late, the mist had hung low over the lake this morning, the lake was still, a solitary crane stood stationary, forever hopeful, it gave Tracey a sense of calm, she herself felt hopeful.

Debbie arrived at the Book Launch early, there were people seated already and the sun was shining, the sun actually had some heat to it, she ordered her coffee and looked out across the lake,

              “What a great place for a café, I’ve never seen such a sight like this,” Debbie said to the little lady in the window,

Leanne, the owner of the cafe, smiled at her,

              “Sunshine’s is great here at Lake Cathie and our coffee and service is amazing,” she smiled, always proud to promote the business, and handed Debbie her coffee.

              Nathan brought in the box of book to help Sarah set up, at least the sun is out today he thought, normally the winters are bloody cold here though, but today the sun was shining.

Jennifer was running late, she sent a message to her friend, OH no how could this happen to me, as she was never late, her friend sent her a message back, it’s all good it hasn’t started yet and I’ve ordered you a coffee, don’t stress. Jenneifer breathed a sigh of relief; she’d been looking forward to this all week.

Sarah started her presentation for her book launch, she hadn’t written anything down, she just had her whole presentation in her head, this was her second launch, and she had felt nervous in the morning, that’s normal she thought to herself.

              She had her favorite section picked out of the book to read out loud, it talks about the smell of sawdust, which Sarah loved just as much as the smell of books,

              “I still miss the smell of timber in the mill,” Anne turned and said to Helen, there was no doubt Anne had sawdust in her veins just like Mag’s McClement, the Sawmill had been her life and she missed it.

Rosemary listened to Book launch,

What a Glorious day! she thought, sitting in the sunshine by the water sipping her coffee.

Sarah finished her presentation and signed a few books; she loved meeting new people and was humbled by the fact that these people had come out to see her.

It was a wonderful morning at Sunshine’s Lake Cathie surrounded by family and friends.
